Some RTS games are designed to be 'microed'. How is PA:T different from normal RTS games? If you like complicated, competitive games that require thinking under pressure, PA:T might be worth your money. I think of PA:T as being chess, but in real time, and allowing you to create more rooks and bishops and knights and pawns as the game progresses. Its core gameplay is learned easily but very difficult to master. Examples include sniper bots, exceedingly high health 'nuke tanks', and aircraft carriers.Īs you can probably see already, PA:T has an enormous amount of gameplay depth. Tier 2 units can be built that cost even more metal but fit even more specialist roles than their Tier-1 counterparts. Naval combat units can attack other naval combat units, air and land targets. Naval fabricators move slowly and fabricate very efficiently They're the slowest units, but also have the most health, highest range and damage. Naval units can only move on water (with one exception). Pelicans can carry vehicles from point A to point B faster than the vehicle could move on its own. A little Anti-Air will obliterate air units, but if the enemy has no Anti-Air, your bombers will tear them apart.Īir fabricators are faster than bots, but even less efficient Tesla bots fire over short range, but deal AOE damage.Īir units are the fastest but most fragile. Grenadiers can fire grenades over cover and over long range.īoom bots move exceedingly fast and self destruct to attack. They are good at scouting enemy bases' positions and raiding unprotected enemy buildings.īot fabricators are less efficient than vehicle fabricators but can move from one point to another quickly.īot combat units come in five very specialist roles:ĭox are fast moving, cheap, and can attack both land and air. Vehicle AA units obliterate enemy aircraft.īots are fast, cheap, and die easily. Vehicle combat units make up the bulk of your average army. Vehicle fabricators are very efficient at fabricating buildings - they take less energy to produce the same buildings than other fabricators do. Vehicles are slow, somewhat expensive, but can take a lot of damage and can dish a lot of damage out. It's your responsibility to choose the right units to be manufacturing. There are four different types of units, each with their own advantages and disadvantages.
